Concession/Cashier-Aquatics, $8.25/Hour. Employee works in the concession stand or the front gate at each swimming pool. Prefer experience working with food and operating a cash register. Must follow sanitary food policies. Employees not guaranteed a minimum number of hours but will work less than 40 hours per week. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and Holidays. Employment will be between May 15, 2017 and end August 27, 2017. Must be 15 years old and must have own transportation.

Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs tasks associated with admission control, sale of concession items, cleaning and public relations; does related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THIS CLASS: The work in this class involves performing detailed money transactions for the sale of concession items and/or the admission control duties.

Other responsibilities involve the preparation and serving of food items, rental of equipment, cleaning respective equipment and areas.

Employees in this class normally do not work under close supervision, but undergo frequent inspection and review.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only)

  • Take admission monies and check season pass numbers;
  • Answer questions pertaining to programs and hours;
  • Prepare for opening and close out register at end of shift;
  • Account for all monies taken;
  • Prepare end of day reports and prepare monies for bank deposit;
  • Clean admission control area;
  • Minor preparation of concession food items;
  • Cleaning of concession areas and food preparation areas;
  • Receive monies for sales and follow accounting practices.
Preferred Skills

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Mathematical knowledge needed to make change, count large sums of money and account for errors; some knowledge of programs and activities; communication skills adequate for interaction with the public; good physical condition.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Some experience in dealing with the public, as well as experience with a cash register is preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.

This is a part-time seasonal position, 40 hours of work per week are not guaranteed.
